Tinguely and Mah
From the mid -1970s, The artist weaves close links with the Mahthrough exhibitions and friendships whose memory is still reflected today in the museum collection.
To celebrate this anniversary, The Mah has restored one of the emblematic works From the artist “If it’s black, my name is Jean” (1960), and receives an important donation of graphic works from Tinguely, offered by the Charitable Niki Art Foundation.
This selection includes pieces in particular with a historic link with Geneva and its region. To revive the spirit of the last exhibition in Tinguely at the Rath museum in 1983, the museum presents more than thirty mechanical sculptures and a Selection of works on papersome of which are Unveiled for the first time.
